Called to Love the Mission

| Kyle Lorence Pareja

As we reflect on this preparation of the solemnity of our founder, St. Guido Maria Conforti, let us also take some time to reflect on our relationship and faith in God. In this week, it is not only the time for us to remember the life of St. Conforti, but for us to learn from his example if we want to become good followers of Jesus Christ.

St. Guido Maria Conforti was a man who really believed in the Crucified Christ. He really believed that Jesus Christ was calling him. “He looked at me, I looked at him, and it seemed that he was telling me something.” By that, he believed that God had a mission for him, and that He wanted all people to love and know Jesus. With these famous words of St. Conforti, it also made me question myself, “Is He telling me something? Do I really have a mission?”

St. Conforti continued to do his mission even when he faced many challenges and difficulties. He continued trusting God and remained faithful to Him. His life and example teach us that we do not need to become rich and perfect persons to serve God. Because what matters is that we should have a willing heart and the courage to carry out our mission.

It is also a reminder for us that trusting God does not mean we will not experience any challenges, problems, and difficulties in life. But instead, it means believing that God is with us even in the hardest moments of our days. Although sometimes we cannot understand what His plan is, we should continue to trust Him because He loves us. Like St. Conforti, may we also learn to remain faithful to God even when life is not easy.

As we remember the life and example of St. Guido Maria Conforti, we also remember all the saints who believed in and followed the teachings of Jesus. Their lives also encourage us to continue following Christ, to trust and believe that God will be there for us in times of need and provide us with everything we need.

May we also continue to share the word of Jesus with those who have not yet known Him. May we also remember that each one of us has a mission. And may the life of St. Conforti and all the saints inspire and lead us in sharing the love of Christ with others.

To be like a saint is to act like a saint. Because in the end, becoming a saint is not about being perfect. But it is about allowing God to transform our hearts and choosing to love Him and others every single day.
