This week has been truly blessed as we celebrated the birthday of Mama Mary. Her life reminds us of the beautiful gift God has given to humanity. Yet instead of receiving a gift from us, Mary gave us the greatest gift of all, Jesus, through her humble “Yes” to God. Through her faithfulness, we are also invited to serve God with humility and trust.
Mary’s “Yes” was not always easy. She did not know everything that would happen to her, nor did she know all the challenges she would face. Still, she trusted God. Her faith teaches us that following God does not mean having all the answers. Sometimes, it simply means trusting Him even when the path ahead is uncertain.
May Mama Mary continue to guide us closer to Jesus and teach us to serve others with humility, love, and faithfulness. May her example inspire us to offer our own “Yes” to God each day.
Mary’s example also reminds us to remain open to God’s call. This week, we held our vocation circle under the guidance of our Vice Formator, Fr. Ryan Masri, with the assistance of Bro. Kyle and Bro. Arvin. We are grateful to say that the gathering was a success. The young participants from Project 8 enjoyed the activities and learned more about the different vocations to which God may call them. It was a meaningful experience for the participants, the formators, and the brothers. We pray that these young people may remain open to God’s invitation and that those who have already answered His call may continue to grow stronger in their vocation.
We also gathered to support Bro. Marlon as he prepares to go to Italy for his theological studies. Our Rector, Fr. Javier, invited Bro. Marlon and his family to join our Thursday Holy Hour. Together, we prayed for his vocation, studies, and upcoming journey. Afterward, we shared a simple yet joyful celebration with him and his family.
With Bro. Feb guiding the program, each of us shared a message for Bro. Marlon. His family also offered heartfelt words that touched and inspired everyone. Of course, the celebration would not have been complete without songs! We then listened to Bro. Marlon’s meaningful message, which encouraged us, his fellow brothers, and strengthened us in our own vocational journeys.
Bro. Marlon is an example of someone who continues to persevere despite life’s challenges. His journey reminds us that even when we experience difficulties, we must not give up because Christ is always near. As Bro. Arvin said, “Malayo pa, pero malayo na!” It may still be a long way to go, but we have already come so far.
As we celebrate Mary’s birth and remember the gift she gave to the world, we are invited to follow her example of saying “Yes” to God. May we remain faithful to our calling, and may the young people be inspired and encouraged to listen and respond to God’s invitation. Through the example of Bro. Marlon, may we always trust that God will accompany us throughout our journey. Following the example of our founder, St. Guido Maria Conforti, may we always keep Christ at the center of our lives.
