We are now on the 3rd Sunday of Easter and let us give thanks to the Risen Lord for giving us hope to continue to spread His good news to everyone.
The gospel for this Sunday talks about the two disciples who are walking on the road going to Emmaus on the day of Jesus’ resurrection. The two Disciples are sad and confused about the events that have taken place, but then a stranger (who is actually Jesus himself) joins them on their journey and explains the scriptures to them. In the first place they did not recognize that was Jesus but then He reveals himself and the two Disciples are filled with Joy and amazement.
This Gospel reminds us that it is important to seek out and recognize the presence of Jesus in our own life, even we are in despair or in times of exuberance. With this, like the two disciples when they recognized Him, they immediately returned to Jerusalem to share their experience with the other disciples. In our life when we are in times of despair Jesus is always at our side to be present and He will guide and make us feel that He is journeying with us. As a seminarian, this reminds me of my own calling to share the good news of Risen Christ with others and to help them to recognize the presence of Jesus in their own lives.
To the Youth that are always on social media, may they use it as an instrument to share the presence of Jesus especially those people who are suffering from depression and anxiety. May they recognize the presence of Jesus the light of the world in their lives.
