Today, we celebrate Holy Trinity Sunday—the Feast of our God: one in essence but three in Persons. The Trinity is a mystery, not to be solved but to be lived. Our task is to live like the Holy Trinity: in a relationship. Because our God is one but not alone. Siya ay isa pero hindi nag-iisa. God does not live in isolation but in relation—in loving relationships. The Father eternally loves the Son through the Holy Spirit, and the Son eternally loves the Father through the Holy Spirit. God, who is Trinity, is fundamentally a relationship: a lover, a beloved, and the love between them.

The Feast of the Holy Trinity is an invitation for us to rediscover the value of relationships in our lives. What gives meaning to life? Money? Fame? Diplomas? The answer is relationship. No man is an island. We always long for connection, for intimacy, for acceptance, for belonging. Deep within the human heart is the longing to connect with one another and with God. We were not created to be independent and isolated. The meaning of our life can only be fully understood from the vantage point of relationship.

In more practical terms, what does the “God of relationship” mean and imply for our lives as individuals and communities? The love of the Holy Trinity must be seen in our daily way of life. This love should be visible in our acceptance of one another—not only because of the good and beautiful qualities we each possess, but also in our weaknesses, faults, and shortcomings. It should be seen in the way we forgive one another—not according to our own conditions, but in the spirit of Jesus: without measure, without limit, without counting. It should be seen in the way we share with one another—not only when it is convenient or easy, but especially in moments when generosity feels most difficult. It should be seen in our service to the community and our compassion for others, especially the poor—even without position, privilege, or reward.

As we honor the Most Holy Trinity, let us not only worship God as a divine mystery but also allow that mystery to shape the way we live. The Trinity teaches us that to be truly human is to be in communion—with God and with one another. May our relationships reflect the love, unity, and generosity of the Trinity. In a world marked by division and isolation, may we become living signs of the God who is love, who is relationship, and who forever invites us into His divine communion.
