Evil is real, and it is at work, but God tells us:  
Fear not! I am with you, and I care for you! 

Why do the wicked prosper? Bakit umuunlad ang masasama? Often, we ask ourselves this question: why, despite our efforts to be good, are there people who do evil and oppose our commitment to well-being for all? The slander, the fall that everyone awaits, the deception of which we are victims, the revenge of those who are envious of our success.

Because of this, we look at God, and we question Him. Is it wrong? 

• Protest as a form of prayer: In the biblical tradition, asking God questions, complaining, and even "arguing" with Him is not necessarily a sign of a lack of faith. On the contrary, it expresses a relationship so intimate and profound that it allows human beings to express their pain and indignation without filters.
• The absence of a logical answer: As highlighted, there is often no rational answer to explain the suffering of the innocent or the success of the wicked. The answer never comes, but the question itself keeps the relationship with the divine open.
• Faith as revolt and quest: Faith, in this vision, is not a passive and immobile acceptance of every earthly injustice. Instead, it becomes an internal "rebellion" that pushes us to move, looking for the proper action, to seek justice, to fight against evil, and not to resign ourselves to the state of things, keeping alive the tension toward God despite doubts.

Injustices, criticism, and unjust humiliation can sometimes cause us to lose our self-esteem, and that's precisely where the Enemy, the devil, wants to lead us, to make us believe that our lives are worthless. God's voice is quite different: “Do not be afraid.” He reminds us instead that in his heart, we always have a place as beloved children. 

At the same time, Jesus is warning us about another evil, inviting us to choose between being people of secrets and evil thoughts, and people bringing within themselves the truth and promoting it in all circumstances. 

The worst deception is the one we play on ourselves, when we lack the courage to recognize the true reason for our lies, our resentments, our desire for revenge, and the jealousies that bite us inside. The devil leads us to pretend to ourselves and prevents us from understanding the true reasons for our behavior. Sayan, instead of realizing what is really going on in our hearts, we allow evil to lead us and to command our choices. Let us follow the Lord in helping us to be truthful with ourselves and others.
