Christmas is one of the most celebrated holidays in the Philippines. From September you can start seeing Christmas decorations around the city, in malls, and around the streets, etc. During the nine days of the Christmas Novena (Simbang Gabi), young people and parish choirs go around singing Christmas Carols (Caroling) accompanied with exchange of gifts. Obviously, this year the caroling together with other “unnecessary” gatherings were prohibited as part of the measures to curb the spread of the Corona-virus. As part of our apostolate with the youth of Saint Francis Xavier Parish, Xaverian brothers used to accompany the youth as they sing caroling in their different areas. To make up for the impossibility of caroling this year, we thought it important to have a flash-back of some songs we used to sing with the youth. However, the songs in this video are in different languages fostering interculturality. There are Christmas songs in Filipino, English, Chinese and French. Enjoy watching and Merry Christmas! Maligayang Pasko. Masayang panunuod.
