Saint Anthony Mary Claret College (SAMCC) celebrated the formal start of its academic year with a Holy Spirit Mass, held on August 5, 2024, at the SAMCC Chapel. The event aimed to seek guidance from the Holy Spirit for the upcoming year.
The Mass was presided over by SAMCC President, Fr. Salvador Agualada, CMF, with rectors and formators from various congregations serving as co-celebrants. Attendees included seminarians, both new and returning, as well as priests, formators, faculty, and staff of SAMCC.
“You are here because you heard the call of God that loves you,” Fr. Agualada emphasized in his homily. He highlighted the divine love and special mission bestowed upon the seminarians, encouraging them to preach the word of the Lord and positively impact people's lives. Fr. Agualada also stressed that the seminarians' current actions reflect their future roles as priests and acknowledged the challenging journey ahead.
After the concluding Prayer, Fr. Angelito S. Ancla, CMF, Dean of SAMCC made important announcements. The event concluded with the historic first singing of the SAMCC Hymn by the attendees, marking a significant moment in the institution's history. The celebration was followed by a short break and the orientation for the new academic year.
