In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks about how His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. I was especially struck by the phrase: “My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me.” This phrase feels very personal. Jesus knows each of us intimately. He is telling us that we are not here in this world by chance—we are here to follow His voice and to recognize it. He continues to call us with gentleness, patience, and love.
Jesus calls us His sheep not because we are perfect or strong, but because we belong to Him. He is our Good Shepherd who always speaks to us with love and care.
Reflecting on my vocation, I realize that He calls me not because I am perfect or completely strong, but even in my imperfections. Each one of us has a unique calling. I often ask myself, 'Am I really called to this path?' But by taking time to reflect and listen to His voice, I’ve come to understand that the path I am walking now is the one to which the Shepherd is calling me—because He knows me, and I follow Him.
Hearing His voice means making time for silence and prayer. It means opening our hearts to Him.
My dear brothers and sisters, today’s Gospel reminds us that being called by Jesus is not about being perfect; it’s about being known and loved by Him. He calls each of us with patience and love. He invites us to follow Him just as we are. As I reflect on my own vocation, I realize that Jesus sees beyond my weaknesses. He knows me deeply, and still, He calls me. My journey may not always be clear, but when I take time to listen in silence and prayer, I recognize His voice leading me. And because I belong to Him, I choose to follow.
