It is important to apologize, forgive, and value our relationships while we can. Time passes quickly, and unspoken words can stay with us forever. Forgiveness is about letting go of that burden and surrendering it to God. As we reflect on this, let us remember the words of Saint Mother Teresa: "If we want to love, we must learn how to forgive." Forgiveness frees us from our burdens and allows us to move forward. It helps us heal and find peace within ourselves. Just as God forgives us, we are called to forgive others and love one another.
My dear brothers and sisters, Jesus challenges us to love and forgive every day. These teachings are not just rules; they help us grow and make the world a better place to live with Jesus. By loving our enemies and forgiving those who hurt us, we can bring peace and kindness into our lives and the lives of others. Sometimes, we may find it hard to forgive. We might think that the person does not deserve our forgiveness. But forgiveness is not about the other person—it is about us. When we forgive, we free ourselves from the pain and anger that can trap us. Forgiveness is a gift we give to ourselves.
