I am Handrianus Masri, 31 years old. I am from Indonesia and I am a Xaverian Missionary. We are three in the family and I am the eldest.
My Father is a retired Government employee in the agricultural fields while my mother is a high school teacher. My second brother also is a teacher, he is married and my youngest brother just graduated from college last May. A priestly vocation started since I was still in grade four at elementary school. Since then, the seed of being a priest continuously growing with the help and support of many people especially my family.
However, at that time I did not have idea what kind or what congregation that I am going to choose to fulfill my dream, until I met Fr. Ciroi Rodolfo and Fr. Roni Harum (at that time he was still a brother studied in Cameroon) who came to our school for the vocation promotion. I was really struck to listen to their sharing experience as Xaverian Missionaries.
At that time, I did not understand much about the Xaverian charism and spirituality. But the life witnesses of Fr. Ciroi, who is an Italian and Bro. Rony an Indonesian who was, at the time, still studying theology in Cameroon where was the most interesting part for me to entered Xaverian. Then in 2007, I entered Xaverian Missionaries in Tunas Xaverian-Jogyakarta Indonesia. My journey has been a great journey with up and down experiences, but I am so blessed and happy to be part of this family. The Xaverian spirit and charism in which our founder St. Guido Maria Conforti has put as the foundation is in tune and harmony with my heart's desires. This is the reason for my joy as a Xaverian.
Now I am in the fourth year of studying theology in Loyola School of Theology-Ateneo de Manila, Philippines. Last June 29, I have professed my final vows as my "YES" forever to dedicate my life totally to God through Xaverian Missionaries. My final decision to say YES is also my readiness.
As Xaverian Missionary to be sent anywhere according to the need of the congregation. If ever I am given a chance to choose for my future assignment, I would like to be sent to a non-Christian country where Xaverian is present.
Lastly my simple message for the youth: God is calling us to be his partners in mission. He is waiting for us to take part in his great job to proclaim the Good News to the whole world. God needs us to be his missionaries, his apostolate to make the whole world one single family. He is knocking at your heart, he is calling you to be missionaries. Let us answer him wholeheartedly. We have many ways to it, and I invite you to join us to be priests and missionaries. What do you waiting for?
